This medium-sized crossbody bag combines two types of repurposed fabric from Guatemala. The main body is colorful 100% cotton CORTE with metallic threads running through it, creating dynamic stripes that sparkle in the sunshine. A matching panel of handwoven 100% cotton HUIPIL at the top adds even more color and an extra touch of craftsmanship.
It has a zip top with a matching pompom on the zipper, a small interior zippered pocket for your favorite tiny trinkets, and big zippered pocket on the front. On the back, there's another pocket with a handy velcro closure, the perfect size for your phone or wallet. The tie strap is endlessly adjustable, and allows you to wear the bag as a crossbody or a shoulder bag (or even as a clutch; the strap can be fully tucked inside the bag). This bag was made from a recycled corte, a vibrant handwoven skirt worn by Guatemalan women. When these durable cortes are ready for a second life, they are hand selected from local markets, washed, and redesigned into sturdy, functional everyday bags or travel companions.
