What Is a Huipil?
This bag was transformed from a recycled huipil, a handwoven, embroidered blouse worn by Guatemalan women. Huipils are one of a kind, as they are village-specific, embellished by the women who wore them. When these garments are ready for a second life, they are hand selected from local markets, then washed and redesigned into sturdy, functional bags like this one.
