What is corte?

The lining of this bag was made from a recycled corte, a vibrant handwoven skirt worn by Guatemalan women.  When these durable cortes are ready for a second life, they are hand selected from local markets, washed, and redesigned into a sturdy, functional everyday bag or travel companion.
