This fabulous tote is made of 100% cotton, woven by hand in the village of Zalcalpa, Guatemala. Artisans draw fun designs on the fabric, then embroider the bag with threads in many different colors, creating an almost three-dimensional look.

On the back of the tote, there's a zippered pocket for all your essentials. Inside, you'll find an organizational pocket and a lining of repurposed corte.

What is CORTE?

This bags lining was made from a recycled corte, a vibrant handwoven skirt worn by Guatemalan women.  When these durable cortes are ready for a second life, they are hand selected from local markets, washed, and redesigned into a sturdy, functional everyday bag or travel companion.
