What is Corte and Huipil

This bag is crafted from recycled cortes (vibrant handwoven skirts) and huipils (handwoven and embroidered blouses) worn by Guatemala women.  The cortes have a durable woven pattern while the huipils are one of a kind and village specific, embellished by the woman who wore it. These are hand selected form local markets, washed and then redesigned into a sturdy, functional everyday bag or travel companion
